Kraków is located in southern Poland and was the capital for more than 500 years. The city is known as a leading center of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life. During World War II, Kraków was one of a couple cities that was spared by German air bombers and hence it's natural timeless beauty was maintained, making it one of the oldest cities in Europe.
