After four years of traveling and living overseas we have finally decided to write about our adventures abroad. We wanted to keep our families, friends and colleagues updated on our unique lifestyle. As well as fill you in on some of the cultural differences and adventures we have encountered along the way.
To those of you that don’t know us, let us give you a little background story. (For more in depth information you can visit the “About Us” tab.) Dan and I have met at Marquette University during the second semester of our sophomore year. Dan played basketball and I played tennis. Hence, we had a lot in common and could relate to each other’s grueling student-athlete lifestyle. We dated for 5 years, got engaged in 2010 and married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 9th, 2011.
In our years since graduating from Marquette University, I originally planned to go to law school, and worked at a great Milwaukee corporate law firm. After working there for over a year, I realized that it just wasn’t for me. I decided to move to Europe with Dan and figure out what I really wanted to do. In the mix of traveling and capturing our adventures, I stumbled upon a career I always wanted to have. I became a photographer. After coming back to the States, I was honored to get an opportunity to work for talented Chicago photographer, Todd Rosenberg, who taught me everything I know about the field. In the two years I have worked for him, I met so many great individuals and was lucky enough to experience a part of the industry that I could have only dreamed of. I worked with Sports Illustrated photographers, world-renowned musicians, celebrities, athletes, corporate clients, CEOs, and everything in between. I am truly lucky to be doing what I love and with this blog I am hoping to give you a first hand look through my lens. So sit back, enjoy, and please send us comments! We would love to hear from you with any suggestions you might have.
Dan on the other hand, always knew what career he wanted to pursue. After graduation, majoring in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, he signed in Europe to play professionally. So far, he has played for teams in Germany, Switzerland, and now Japan. Dan and I have traveled to about a dozen countries in the last 4 seasons, and hope to add many more to that list. I’m glad Dan has totally embraced the traveling lifestyle. He has been playing very well as a pro, improving his play each season so far. His dedication and determination to be the best at what he does has served him well in his career.
